Addiscombe Osteopath Practice changes during Covid-19
Please cancel your appointment if on the morning of your appointment you are unwell. There will be no cancellation fee charged.
We have studied Public Health England, Government and professional sources together with legal requirements necessary to be able to open the Practice again. To save time cleaning all these areas between each appointment. The front entrance of the Practice will be closed as well as the hall, waiting room and reception areas. Access to the toilet will be locked, but available on request to eliminate cleaning when it has not been used.
Entering the treatment room will be via the back gate and French doors. This will save time so we can offer more appointment slots.
Our treatment room has been cleared of all non-essential items. Fabric covered chairs, fabric couch covers, screen and privacy blanket will also be removed. Special wipe clean pillows and rolls will be provided. Electric fans and heater are not to be used so have been removed. Venetian Blinds have been removed as too difficult to disinfect them. Reflective film has been placed on the window and a product used to put on the outside of greenhouses to cut down heat inside. (We will get roller blinds installed as soon as we can get someone to put them up)
Payment of fees

What to expect when visiting during Covid-19 restrictions
We ask you to come alone. (or speak to the receptionist) Please do not arrive early for your appointment and wait in your car. (if not coming by car please let reception know and we will adapt to your needs) Your Osteopath will be wearing PPE and will welcome you arriving wearing face protection. Please wash your hands when you enter the treatment room. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a screen and covering, you might like to wear shorts and vest type of garment for treatment.
We will not be treating if there is the slightest suspicion that either the osteopath or you have Covid19 symptoms. Certain face to face techniques will be avoided.
Covid19 is a novel virus that we do not fully understand. The many patients have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, a small minority become extremely ill and tragically some die. There is currently no vaccine or drug to treat severe cases.
You must understand that it is impossible to completely remove the risk of infection, when leaving your home, getting deliveries and having treatment. Your practitioner also recognises that they may pick up the virus from you. We ask you to work with us to do our best to keep you and Sharon safe.
There is Legal requirement for you to sign declaration and consent of treatment when you arrive.
There will be an appropriate gap after each patient to allow for PPE changed and disposal, ventilation and disinfectant of treatment room.
Please leave promptly as cleaning can’t be started until you have left, we need time for the process and drying time before the next patient.
